Are you prepared for an emergency?
Storm Austen is on the way, with an amber weather warning in place across the area on Friday due to dangerous winds.
It’s worth preparing now in case of disruption due to adverse weather - we have put together the guide below to make sure you have essentials to hand in case there is a power cut or flooding. Make sure you have torches, spare batteries, a charged mobile phone power bank and other essentials to hand just in case.
Every household is different, so tailor your kit to your needs, including babies, pets and anyone who needs medication or other essentials. If you can’t cook without electricity, make sure you have food that’s ready to eat. A little preparation now can make a big difference if you need it.
If you spot a problem on our highways and you have internet then you can report various issues online to Cornwall Council https://www.cornwall.gov.uk/transport-parking-and-streets/roads-highways-and-pavements/report-a-problem-with-a-road-or-pavement/ or phone 0300 1234 222.
