Update from Parish Council meeting regarding sale of Loe Beach

The Parish Council meeting held on Monday 21st September 2026 was attended by over 55 residents and a representative of the owners of Loe Beach, which is a privately owned beach currently for sale. Those present spoke about how much they appreciated the owners allowing access to the public to use Loe Beach and some expressed concern that this may change once the property was sold.

A resolution was passed that the Parish Council would investigate the practicalities and pros and cons of registering the beach as an Asset of Community Value but that this would not be applied for until the Parish Council have had meaningful conversations with the family about extending the timescale to allow a community option to buy the property and establish the details regarding public rights of way and access on the land and beach.
